Quiz\u00e1s uno de los libros m\u00e1s bellos de la Biblioteca Hist\u00f3rica de la USAL sea The miracles of the blessed Virgin Mary\u2026<\/em> Publicado en Londres en 1900, en una tirada peque\u00f1a de trescientos ejemplares, el volumen incluye la traducci\u00f3n al ingl\u00e9s de diversos manuscritos et\u00edopes adquiridos por Lady Meux (1847-1910), coleccionista victoriana especializada en objetos del Antiguo Egipto. De gran tama\u00f1o y ricamente ilustrado a color, el libro se inicia con los t\u00edtulos en portada, impresos en negro y rojo. Contiene, adem\u00e1s, pasajes en lengua copta, como as\u00ed tambi\u00e9n ciento once planchas con litograf\u00edas a color, cada una con una leyenda explicativa. \u201cOur Lady, The Holy Virgin Mary, who gave birth to God, holding his son Jesus Christ in her arms. On her right and left are the Archangels Michael and Gabriel\u201d, dice uno de los ep\u00edgrafes. Wallis Bugde (1857-1934), editor y traductor del libro, fue un egipt\u00f3logo ingl\u00e9s que trabaj\u00f3 para el Museo Brit\u00e1nico, public\u00f3 numerosos libros sobre Egipto y tambi\u00e9n edit\u00f3 un cat\u00e1logo de la colecci\u00f3n de Lady Meux, que inclu\u00eda m\u00e1s de 1700 objetos.<\/p>\n
